Regional Conference: ‘The Role of the Notarial Profession in Company Law’

When implementing our projects in the Western Balkans, we often opt for regional events in order to generate synergies across our partner countries. In terms of content, we have also been focusing on commercial law topics here for many years. This was once again evident at our conference on the role of the notarial profession in company law, held in Tirana at the end of May. It was organised by IRZ in collaboration with the Albanian Chamber of Notaries and the Federal Chamber of Notaries.

Representatives of the notarial professions from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia took the opportunity to engage in an in-depth exchange of experiences regarding preventive legal services in company law, as well as the role the notarial profession plays in preventing money laundering. In addition, experts from the Federal Chamber of Notaries provided an overview of current developments in the EU in the field of company law. The conference provided a wealth of information and inspiration for opinion leaders and decision-makers.

The high relevance of the conference was demonstrated not least by the participation of the Minister of Justice of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vedran Škobić, who had travelled to Tirana specifically for the event.
